Challenges and Opportunities for Open Science in the Republic of North Macedonia
The project aims to explore and evaluate the state, challenges, and opportunities for implementing the concept of open science in the Republic of North Macedonia, with a focus on the social sciences. The research includes an analysis of the legal framework, existing research infrastructures, researchers' perspectives and practices, and the role of public policies in supporting open science.
As part of the project, an online survey with researchers, interviews with policymakers, mapping of research infrastructures, and a comparative analysis of the regulatory framework at both the national and EU levels were conducted. These activities provided an in-depth assessment of the current situation and recommendations for improving policies and practices related to open science.
The project is financially supported by the integrative funds of Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje.
The findings and recommendations from the research aim to contribute to the improved implementation of open science in the country, ensuring more systematic support for researchers and institutions.
