Assisstant MA Tea Koneska-Vasilievska

Tea Koneska-Vasilevska was born in 1985 in Skopje. Since 2020, she has been employed at the Institute for Sociological, Political and Juridical Research (ISPJR) at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, first as a Research Assistant in the field of Communications and Mass Media and, since 2026, as an Assistant Professor in the field of Mass Communications. In addition to her academic career, she has extensive professional experience in the media and publishing sectors, having worked for many years as a coordinator, editor, language proofreader, and reviewer.

Koneska-Vasilevska graduated from the “Blaže Koneski“ Faculty of Philology in Skopje, Department of General and Comparative Literature (scientific track), where she obtained the professional title of Graduate Philologist in General and Comparative Literature. She was also awarded a Certificate of Excellence for outstanding academic achievement during her undergraduate studies. She completed her Master’s studies in Communications at the Institute for Sociological, Political and Juridical Research in Skopje, graduating with a grade point average of 9.88 (out of 10) and earning MSc in Communications. In 2026, Koneska-Vasilevska earned her PhD in Communicology (Cultural Studies and Communication Studies) after completing her doctoral studies in the Media and Society study programme within the Department of Communication and Journalism at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Niš, Republic of Serbia. She graduated with a grade point average of 9.58 (out of 10) and successfully defended her doctoral dissertation with the highest grade (10).

As part of her doctoral studies, in 2023 Koneska-Vasilevska completed a study and research stay at the Doctoral School of Communication and Arts at Roskilde University, Denmark, within the framework of the European Media and Communication Doctoral Summer School. She was awarded a grant by the European Communication Research and Education Association (ECREA). In 2024, she also completed a short-term study and research stay at Goethe University Frankfurt, Germany, participating in the Knowledge Synthesis School within the COST Action CA22167: Participatory Approaches with Older Adults – PAAR-net.

Throughout her academic career, Koneska-Vasilevska has participated in national and international research projects, national and international scientific conferences and symposia, as well as a broad range of other teaching, research, professional, and applied professional activities. She has also continuously enhanced her academic and professional expertise through participation in various symposia, seminars/webinars, training programmes, and workshops. As an author and co-author, she has published scientific and professional papers in national and international academic journals, conference proceedings, and scholarly monographs.

In the field of teaching and higher education, Koneska-Vasilevska is engaged in second- and third-cycle studies in the area of media and communications, teaching a number of compulsory and elective courses. At the second-cycle level, these include: Introduction to Communication Sciences, Theories of Mass Communication, and Communicology with Communication Theories. At the third-cycle level, these include: Communicology, Theories of Mass Communication, Visual Communication and Culture, and Media History and Culture.

Koneska-Vasilevska is a member of the European Communication Research and Education Association (ECREA), the International Association for Media and Communication Research (IAMCR), and the EUROPEANA Network Association, as well as two COST Actions: CA22167 – Participatory Approaches with Older Adults (PAAR-net) and CA23105 – Language Plurality in Europe’s Changing Media Sphere (PLURILINGMEDIA). In addition to her native Macedonian, she has excellent command of English and Serbian and actively uses both languages. She also possesses a working knowledge of German, French, and Spanish.
