Prof. Dr. Aneta Cekikj

Prof. Dr. Aneta Cekikj has been working at ISPJR since 2007. She graduated from the Department of Political Science at the Faculty of Law, University “St. Cyril and Methodius” in Skopje in 2004. She obtained her Master’s degree in 2008 on a topic related to ethnic conflicts at the Institute for Sociological, Political and Juridical Research in Skopje, where she also earned her PhD in 2011 with the dissertation titled: Lobbying in the European Union Institutions and Small States.

Currently, she is a Full Professor in the fields of Political Systems and European Politics, with research interests focused on: interest groups and lobbying, lobbying in the European Union, democracy and democratization, European politics and Europeanization, and ethnic conflicts.

In 2010, she spent a one-month study visit at the University of Ghent, Belgium, and in 2013 and 2014, she held postdoctoral positions at the University of Salzburg, Austria. She is a member of the University Association for Contemporary European Studies and the Permanent Group for Interest Groups at the European Consortium for Political Research.
