Prof. Dr. Slavejko Sasajkovski

Prof. Dr. Slavejko Sasajkovski Born on March 14, 1959, in Resen. He completed his primary and secondary education in Resen, at the “Goce Delchev” Primary School and the “Stiv Naumov” High School. He graduated in sociology from the Faculty of Philosophy at UKIM, with a thesis titled “The Vatican and Contemporary International Political Relations.” He holds a Master’s degree and a PhD in Sociological Sciences from the Institute for Sociological, Political and Juridical Research at UKIM, with his Master’s thesis titled “Universal Religions, the Spirit of Tolerance, and Ecumenism” and his doctoral dissertation titled “Revitalization of the Social Function of Religion – Religious-Political Confrontation with the Religious Phenomenon.”

He has published a significant number of scientific works in the fields of economic sociology (especially inequality in the distribution of wealth at national and global levels), political sociology (particularly the sociology of political ideologies, the sociology of the state, and state interventionism), international political relations (especially the foreign policies of the USA and Turkey, relations in the Middle East, Eastern Mediterranean, the foreign policy of the Vatican City State, and political relations in the Balkan region), international political economy (the structure and constellation of global political-economic power), sociology of nations (especially the sociology of the Macedonian, Greek, and Turkish nations), medical sociology (especially state interventionism in public health protection), and politics and religion (modern situations and trends regarding political Islam, the Vatican, and Orthodox ecumenism).

He teaches a number of Master’s and Doctoral studies courses and is a mentor for Master’s and Doctoral theses primarily in these areas of interest.
