
Dr. Mirjana Borota Popovska – Full Professor. Born in Skopje. In 1991, she graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy in Skopje with a major in Philosophy, achieving an average grade of 9.1. She completed the postgraduate studies in Human Resource Management at the Institute for Sociological, Political and Juridical Research, and in July 1995, she defended her Master’s thesis titled: “Business Ethics in Organizations during the Transition Period in the Republic of Macedonia,” with an average grade of 10. She defended her doctoral dissertation titled Management of Change and Human Potential in May 1999.
Throughout her professional development, Mirjana Borota Popovska has attended and successfully completed several forms of education, relevant to improving her approach to teaching. She has also been awarded three prestigious international scholarships: the TEMPUS individual mobility scholarship (1998), the HESP Mobility Grant (2002), and the Junior Fellowship Program (JFDP) from the U.S. Government (2004).
Since June 1, 1993, she has been employed at the Institute for Sociological, Political and Juridical Research, Skopje.
Since 1999, she has been managing the Center for Management and Human Resources Development at the Institute, where she conducts scientific research activities. She was the Chair of the Institute’s Council from 2005 to 2008. From 2002 to 2006, she served as the Chair of the Institute’s Self-Assessment Commission. Prof. Borota Popovska held the position Director of ISPJR in the period 2015-2018.
Dr. Mirjana Borota Popovska’s professional (scientific) interests include human resource management, strategic management, strategic human resource management, organizational behavior, change management, business ethics, and more.
Over the years, she has participated in several international and domestic research projects, mainly in the field of organizational sciences and management (both in the private and public sectors), especially in management at central and local government levels. Within these projects, she has participated in all research phases, and in most cases, she was the project leader. During this period, she has participated in numerous conferences and published scientific and professional papers in both international and domestic journals.
