Can Unstable Societies Support Stable States? Cases of Bosnia, Montenegro, Kosovo, and North Macedonia

This project examines whether societies characterized by instability can sustain stable state structures, focusing on the cases of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Kosovo, and North Macedonia. The research aims to analyze the socio-political dynamics within these countries to understand the factors that contribute to or hinder the development of stable governance despite societal challenges.

Project Team:

  • Prof. Dr. Petar Atanasov: Professor of Sociology and Communications at the Institute for Sociological, Political, and Legal Research. His research interests include social changes, multiculturalism, identity, and ethnic conflicts.
  • Prof. Slavejko Sasajkovski: Professor at the Institute for Sociological, Political, and Legal Research. His areas of focus are economic sociology, political sociology, international political relations, and the sociology of nation and religion.
  • Prof. Dr. Pande Lazarevski: Professor at the Institute for Sociological, Political, and Legal Research. His expertise includes international politics and diplomacy, public policy, and political psychology.
  • Assist. Prof. Dr. Driton Maljichi: Assistant Professor at the Institute for Sociological, Political, and Legal Research. His research focuses on educational sociology, multiculturalism, social conflicts, and interethnic relations.

 

The project is conducted by the Institute for Sociological, Political, and Legal Research at the "Ss. Cyril and Methodius" University in Skopje.
