The project aims to implement the sixth module of the Comparative Study of Electoral Systems (CSES) in the Republic of North Macedonia within six months following the 2024 parliamentary elections and the second round of the presidential elections. The study is part of the international CSES initiative, which focuses on voter behavior in a post-election context.
As part of the project, a field survey will be conducted on a nationally representative sample of at least 1,000 adult citizens. The study will be integrated into a broader “omnibus” survey, ensuring that the CSES module is implemented in line with the international study’s methodological guidelines and standards.
The project is a joint initiative of the Institute for Sociological and Political Research (ISPJR - UKIM), the Institute for Democracy "Societas Civilis" – Skopje (IDSCS), and the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) – North Macedonia, with ISPJR - UKIM serving as the research coordinator.
The project is financially supported by the US National Science Foundation, the Institute for Democracy "Societas Civilis" – Skopje (IDSCS), and the Swiss Electoral Support Programme, implemented by the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES).
The study’s findings will contribute to a better understanding of the factors influencing voter behavior in North Macedonia and enable comparative analysis with other countries participating in CSES.
