Prof. Dr. Ganka Cvetanova was born in 1968 in Skopje. She graduated from the Faculty of Music Arts in 1989. She obtained her Master’s degree from the same faculty in 1994. In 2006, she defended her doctoral dissertation titled Cultural Differences and Social Integration in the Republic of Macedonia at the Institute for Sociological, Political and Juridical Research in Skopje, earning a PhD in Sociological Sciences.
In 2009, she was appointed as a Professor in the postgraduate Sociology studies at the Institute for Sociological, Political and Juridical Research. In 2010, she was employed at the Institute as an Associate Professor and Senior Research Associate. In 2014, she was appointed as a Full Professor in the fields of sociology, new media, and democracy. She is the head of the Center for Communications, Media, and Culture, as well as the head of the study group Culture in the Era of Cybernetics.
