Second Cycle Studies (Master program) in Human Resource Management

The postgraduate studies in Human Resource Management represent the first study program in this field established in the country (in 1991, in cooperation with the Maastricht School of Management, Netherlands). The studies are based on a holistic approach to treating the organization as the dominant object of study, and the role of human resources in it, with an emphasis on an applied developmental character: from diagnosis of the situation, through design, to implementation of solutions for changing the situations that affect human resources.

In that direction, students are encouraged to base their seminar and master's theses on real problems and specific organizations. The interests of individuals and candidates who are part of the postgraduate studies are met by the system of elective courses. The subject programs provided in the curriculum are competency-based and enable the continuation of university studies in the third cycle.

This study program aims to enable students to acquire in-depth knowledge in the field of human resource management, as well as specific knowledge in the same field related to other areas of organizational sciences, as well as the application of knowledge in a business environment.

This study program prepares students for various career paths, including:

  • Human Resources Professional: This could be a manager or specialist in an HR department, working on different aspects of human resource management in government or private organizations. Examples include ministries, local governments, employment agencies, companies, and consulting firms.
  • Manager: This could be a manager of a small or medium-sized company, a functional manager in a medium or large company, or a manager in a public institution (such as in education, healthcare, or social services).
  • Consultant: This could be a management consultant or a human resources consultant.
  • Essentially, the program aims to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in a variety of roles related to human resource management and leadership.
